Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are innovative injectable treatments derived from purified salmon or trout DNA fragments. They work at a cellular level to stimulate collagen production and encouraging the skin to regenerate itself.
With powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and hydration promoting properties, polynucleotides improve skin quality, firmness and elasticity while promoting a brighter, healthier and more youthful complexion.
They are particularly effective for treating crepey skin, fine lines, dark under-eye circles, skin laxity and the ageing neck, making them an excellent all-round regenerative treatment suitable for almost all skin types.

Polynucleotides are regenerative injectable treatments that work by stimulating fibroblasts- the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. By doing this, polynucleotides help improve skin strength, firmness and elasticity. They also support other important cells involved in tissue repair and regeneration, helping to restore healthier, more resilient skin.
In addition to boosting collagen production, polynucleotides help protect the skin from free radical damage through their antioxidant effects and can prolong the activity of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid by up to 40%, enhancing hydration and supporting long-lasting improvements in skin quality.
Before treatment, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical anaesthetic cream applied to maximise comfort. The polynucleotides are then carefully injected into the skin using either a very fine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula, depending on the treatment area.
Following treatment, it is normal to experience temporary redness, swelling and small bumps at the injection sites, which typically settle within 24–72 hours.
As polynucleotides stimulate collagen production and the skin's natural regenerative processes, results develop gradually over several weeks. Many patients notice brighter, more hydrated skin after their first treatment, with continued improvements in skin quality, firmness and elasticity over the following months. For optimal results, a course of 3-4 treatments, spaced approximately 2–4 weeks apart, is usually recommended. Maintenance treatments every 6–9 months help to preserve your results, although your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual skin concerns and goals.
For most patients, an initiating course of 3-4 treatments with 2-4 weeks between each session is recommended depending on what concern is being addressed and what product is being used. Following this, a maintenance treatment every 6-9 months is usually advised to refresh your results.
Our polynucleotide treatment sessions take around 45 minutes.
Polynucleotides have an excellent safety record. There are very few adverse reactions reported for this treatment by clinicians and they have been used for many years in the medical field for the management of wounds, burns, ulcers and scars.
Please note: This treatment is not suitable for those with a fish or shellfish allergy.
Following your treatment, it is normal to experience some redness, swelling and mild puffiness, depending on the area treated. Small raised bumps may also be visible at the injection sites. These gradually settle often within 24–48 hours, although it can occasionally take up to 7 days. Bruising is also possible and may last for several days. Very rarely, a larger bruise can occur and may take longer to resolve.
Make-up can usually be applied from the following day. Until any redness or inflammation has settled, avoid products containing active ingredients such as retinoids, vitamin C, glycolic acid or salicylic acid, as these may irritate the skin. Daily use of a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher is always recommended to protect your skin and support the healing process.
Many patients notice some immediate improvement in skin radiance following treatment. Improvements in skin quality, hydration and firmness develop gradually over the following weeks. As polynucleotides stimulate the skin's natural regenerative processes, optimal results are typically seen on a more longer term basis after completing your initial course of treatment.

Most patients do not need to take time off work following polynucleotide treatment and are able to return to their normal daily activities straight away.
However, it is common to experience mild redness, swelling and small injection-site bumps for 24–72 hours (occasionally longer). Mild bruising can also occur and may take several days to resolve.
If you have an important social event, photoshoot or special occasion, we recommend scheduling your treatment at least 1–2 weeks beforehand to allow any temporary side effects to settle and to ensure your skin is looking its best.
